The
program teaches students to grow fresh, seasonal produce and use it to prepare nutritious, delicious food.
Students are given all the skills, experiences, and role modelling they need to learn the lifelong skills of gardening and cooking, expanding their knowledge of food and making healthy choices.
We hold our garden and kitchen classes every Monday.
The children participate in hour long garden classes with our garden specialist, horticulturalist Aga Jones, in our expanding kitchen garden.
Our cooking classes are followed by a communal meal with classmates, teachers and our wonderful volunteers.
Students love kitchen and garden classes because they're fun. Children experience the joy of digging in the garden, picking fresh veggies, smelling and tasting food they prepare, and sharing the experience with their classmates and helpers.
You can also enjoy the fabulous meals the students prepare at home, as all our recipes are listed on our recipe page.
